Group works to build fences in order to unchain animals

Group of friends in the Portland area have worked to add fences to neighbors’ homes in order to let their pets of off their leashes and allow them to run around.

The friends formed a non-profit group called Fences for Fido and had a goal to build one fence a month. The group went from 10 women to almost 900 volunteers rather quickly.

The founders stated that they hated seeing dogs chained up and building a fence was the answer to giving them more freedom. The group has now completed half a dozen fences and has three more scheduled from next month.
