Nebraska has own laws on fence dispute

The state of Nebraska has its own laws in order to solve fencing disputes if neighbors are unable to come to an agreement amongst themselves.

The Nebraska Division Fence Statuses provide the legal process for neighbors if they can not decide for themselves. Most of the time, the division has the costs split 50/50,  but if one neighbor does not want the fence, the division can require them to pay half for it anyway.

The rule of 50/50 is applied even if one person needs the division fence because they have cattle. When the fence needs repair, usually the owners split up the side of the fence down the middle and fix what is on their side.
